Our Best Recommendations For Improving Question Variety & Difficulty

Improving question variety and difficulty is important for keeping children engaged and helping them develop critical thinking skills.

As parents, finding the right balance of challenge in your child’s education can be tricky, especially with busy schedules.

KooBits makes this process simple and effective, offering a range of features designed to cater to your child’s learning needs.

How to increase difficulty in Daily Challenge

We understand that some parents find the questions in the Daily Challenge too easy. This is actually intentional!

Starting with easier questions helps children feel a sense of accomplishment and keeps them motivated to continue practising.

As they progress, they also unlock more levels with more challenging questions.

If you’re looking to increase the difficulty or want a mix of question levels, try unlocking higher levels.

The Daily Challenge has four levels, each one harder than the last. Encourage your child to try higher levels for a tougher challenge.

How to access Top School Worksheets

Click on KooTraining > KooQuiz

Other than Top School Year-End Paper, you’ll also get access to “Essential Skills” and “HOTS Papers.”

  • Top School Year-End Paper features similar questions students face during exams
  • Essential Skills worksheets are great to dive deeper into a specific skill. Great for improving weaker skills.
  • HOTS, or Higher-Order-Thinking-Skills, are heuristics-focused questions. Questions here are generally tougher and will help develop sharper critical thinking skills.

Our worksheets come with a timer, so you can simulate a mock exam environment, which is great for test preparation.

How to practice more challenging exam-style questions

Check out the HOTS or Heuristics questions under KooTraining > Mission.

These questions are designed to develop problem-solving skills. Starting with easier HOTS, like ‘draw a diagram’ or ‘look for patterns,’ can be very helpful.

How to increase difficulty for specific skills in Mission

Under KooTraining> Mission, you can search for skills marked with ‘(High Ability)’ for more difficult questions.

Alternatively, look for the chili symbols next to the questions. The more chili symbols a skill has, the higher the difficulty level it will be.

Why some of the questions are repeated in a practice session

We understand that some parents are concerned about repeated questions and feel it might waste time.

However, repetition is proven to be useful for learning!

Just like practising the same movement in sports helps make it second nature, doing the same type of question repeatedly helps children remember better and understand more deeply.

This method ensures they are well-prepared and confident in their knowledge.
